Persona
The framework
16 ways to travel the world.
Every traveler sits somewhere on four spectrums. The position you hold on each one produces a four-letter code — and one of sixteen distinct personas. All of them are real. None of them are better than the others.

The psychology behind it
Dr. Mia Mulrennan
Psy.D. · Organizational Psychology
The Traveler’s Persona framework was developed in collaboration with Dr. Mia Mulrennan, an organizational psychologist with over 25 years of experience across the travel, hospitality, and talent development sectors. Her work has spanned Fortune 500 consulting, leadership roles at Marriott Corporation, and founding professor in Georgetown University’s Masters of Global Hospitality Leadership Program — where she received the Teaching Excellence Award in 2016.
Dr. Mulrennan’s interest in how personality shapes behavior in unfamiliar environments informed the four dimensions at the core of this system. The goal was a framework grounded in real psychological variance — not travel tropes — that could produce meaningful, actionable distinctions between the ways people actually engage with the world.
